How AI might affect business document exchange and processing

 I wonder whether AI is likely to soon, if not already, obviate the need for XML, or similar technologies. For example, a tax body might have preferred an invoice to be sent in XML format, to aid accuracy and precision of its processing by an accounts payable department, despite many parties finding PDF to be a preferred option. With AI likely to improve OCR kinds of technology, PDF might gain better acceptance by tax authorities. Even paper invoice scanning and reading with AI assistance might become a preferred technology in the future, since it allows a fall back if technology fails.
